Thanksgiving in Texas: Part 2

We took it easy on Wednesday, and on Thursday had Thanksgiving dinner. It was quite a feast. Grandma and Grandpa had prepared a fun Family Home Evening on Monday where we filled out papers of things we were grateful for. Grandma read all the things we wrote on the papers before we said the prayer on Thursday.

This looks like I took a picture during the prayer but I didn't. They were just waiting for me to quit snapping pictures. The meal was yummy. We had lots of traditional thanksgiving fare and the appetizer was grandmas berry jello she made! I brought up some sweet potatoes from the garden this year and cranberry sauce I had canned last month.

Friday Cameron had an important call for work and we left the house so he could have some quiet. Grandma and Grandpa took us to a Natural History Museum nearby. The kids really enjoyed seeing all the dinosaurs outside.

This part was definitely the kids favorite. They got to dig for dinosaur bones in the sand and put them on the dinosaur in the right places.

Here they are with the finished dinosaur.

Inside they had these diorama's with animals in their native environments.  We had a volunteer tour guide tell us lots of interesting information about the animals.

This skeleton was used in the movie Night at the Museum.

Friday afternoon we went shopping and in the evening Camden and Eric came over to hang out for a while. We had a fun time!
